Mike Startup Mike is a general practice partner in the Audit & Business Services team who, with over 30 years experience of working with business clients of various size and type, is able to ensure they receive the best advice and assistance to help not only with compliance, but also with their personal and business tax.

In addition to more general business and accountancy services, Mike has established and developed DSH’s specialist forensic accounting and litigation support services. He works closely with other professional firms in litigation cases, receiving sole and joint instructions from both plaintiff’s and defendant’s solicitors. The work frequently requires him to give evidence in court as an expert witness. Typical recent assignments have included valuations for matrimonial matters, personal injury cases, valuations on compulsory purchases and business related instructions.

Mike has also gained a reputation for his experience of working with charities and other organisations in the not-for-profit sector. Away from DSH he gives help and assistance to the local community via the local Rotary Club and is the Honorary Treasurer of the Heart of Kent Hospice and other charities.
